Here are a few ways to help with fat reduction. Cinnamon: Cinnamic acid helps balance blood glucose and reduce body mass. Chili Peppers: Capsaicin, the heat promoting component of peppers, has a similar heat producing effect in the body that helps burn fat. Ginger: A perfect addition to stir fries and teas, it helps lower blood glucose (excess glucose is converted to fat and stored).

Cut the salt

Reducing kids’ salt consumption may help fight childhood obesity, states a study by the Australian National Children’s Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey. It found that the more salt children had , the more sugar-laden drinks they drank. Health Canada’s recommendations for children ages 1-3: less than 1500mg of sodium a day, 4-8: 1900 mg; 9-13: 2200mg.
