Ginger: A perfect addition to stir fries and teas, it helps lower blood glucose (excess glucose is converted to fat and stored).
Reducing kids’ salt consumption may help fight childhood obesity, states a study by the Australian National Children’s Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey. It found that the more salt children had , the more sugar-laden drinks they drank. Health Canada’s recommendations for children ages 1-3: less than 1500mg of sodium a day, 4-8: 1900 mg; 9-13: 2200mg.
